School Link with Riverside Primary School

This is the third year of our school link and we have been so excited to make a link with a contrasting school in terms of location and culture – there is the also the additional personal link of Mrs Walker’s Daughter working at Riverside as their Year 6 Teacher!

Mrs Walker had the pleasure of visiting Riverside at Christmas 2022 and, during Autumn term 2023, we were excited to welcome Mr Daniels and Miss Walker to South Petherton Junior.
Following our school visit to Riverside, Mrs Walker saw individual lockers within their corridors and the use of actual tokens for school rewards. We now enjoy these ideas at SPJS! Following their school visit to use, they saw an exciting Reading Gallery, Book Corners in each classroom and a Toilet Award! Riverside now has all these ideas!

Head Students from both schools regularly write to each other and you will be able to read the letters – we share them within our School Hall Display Board and all Parents/Carers can enjoy the letters hyperlinked at the bottom of the page.

All children are always extremely excited to hear updates from Riverside and they have a school link board to enjoy in the Hall Foyer. We look forward to more opportunities of how we can work together.
