1:1 Learning Support Assistant

Full Time (Term Time only)
Grade 15.4/14.5 (depending on experience)
Start: Fixed-Term until 31st August 2025 (potential to be extended depending on staffing structure & budget considerations)

We require an experienced 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. The role will involve working with a SEND child on a 1:1 basis and then supporting them within the classroom.

Ideal applicants will be enthusiastic, patient, nurturing and committed to supporting the wellbeing of young children. Previous experience of supporting young children with SEND needs (particularly SEMH) would be an advantage.

Clerk to Governors

South Petherton Junior School is looking for a Clerk to Governors

The Clerk’s job is to work with the Chair, other governors and headteacher, in dealing with administrative matters for the board and advising on procedural issues of governance and the board’s statutory duties.  Central to the role is preparing for, taking notes at and producing minutes for meetings.  Good keyboard skills are essential.

The post is a Fixed Term contract at 1.25 hours per week, term time only. There are approximately 10 meetings per year (Term time only and during the evening). The successful applicant would be expected to also attend the Clerks’ Briefing meetings run by Governor Services.

The post of Clerk to the Governing Board has been evaluated using Somerset’s Job Evaluation Scheme at Grade 13 Point 11.  Skills and experience will be discussed and appropriate training identified.
