Dahl Monthly Snapshot - October 2024

Class: Dahl Class Year: 2024 - 2025

In Science, the children have been devising experiments to test the durability of rocks. We had great fun dropping, crushing and sanding rocks to order the rocks from least to most durable.

As we move from the Stone Age into the Bronze Age, Dahl class were challenged to imagine themselves as a Neolithic tribe, who had discovered a new material, bronze. Using the closest substitute of aluminium foil/copper wire, children innovated, creating tools, jewellery and even a sword to fend off a neighbouring tribe!

We are so lucky to have an Iron Age hill fort on our doorstep, so we had a wonderful day trip to try out some Iron Age cooking (yummy!) and create some replica pots. The children recorded their learning on return to school and added their new-found knowledge to our class timeline.
