RSPB Big Schools’ Birdwatch
Year 5 were very excited to be part of the RSPB Big Schools’ Birdwatch. They joined thousands of other schools to find out which birds visit our school grounds. They had to use survey sheets to record the highest number of each species that they saw at the same time. They noticed a family of 6 Crows living across the 3 big trees on the bottom playground, 2 Great Tits above the Sensory Garden, a number of House Sparrows living in the hedges, nesting Jackdaws, a few Herring Gulls and two Robins. It was a very calm and relaxing activity and all the children were engaged and enjoyed recording their results. Well done Year 5 for being part of something special! Miss Dunn would like to add a special thank you to Anna for filling up the bird feeders in advance and helping her organise the event!
